Position Description

Job Summary and Scope: Briefly describe why the role exists and the scope of management responsibilities

Repairs and services cleaning equipment at both customer and company locations.   Provides service and support to internal and external customers. 

Job Responsibilities: Briefly describe what this person would be accountable for in their performance reviews (e.g., project implementation, report creation, process management, trade-off decisions).   List the accountabilities in order of importance to the enterprise.

  • Perform field service calls on Jan/San cleaning equipment on site and at customer locations.
  • Input service data using Connect Route and VCR software documenting work performed on customer owned and internal equipment repairs to include part number research.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, equipment and industry trends. 
  • Attend training programs on new equipment as required.
  • Assist in the sales effort by maintaining positive relationships with customers.
  • Promote and present positive company image to customers.
  • Maintain assigned service vehicle, equipment and parts supply and inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area at customer locations and in the company shop area.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner by following safety guidelines, including personal protective equipment to accomplish the objective of an accident-free workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:  Briefly describe the knowledge, skills, demonstrated behaviors and experience required for entry into the position/role

  • HS Diploma/GED required, 2 year technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years equipment repair experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Equipment certification a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with responsible driving record.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer relations skills are required.
  • Strong problem solving skills are required.
  • Work under minimal supervision.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirement: (Describe any unusual working conditions, such as extreme temperatures, heights, hazardous materials, etc.  State percentage of time spent traveling each month, if any.)

  • A portion of the incumbent's job responsibilities requires work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, and wrists.  The incumbent is required to talk, see and hear. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

  • The working conditions are servicing equipment in both customer and company facilities.
