Position Description

Provides clerical/administrative support for the transportation function - including DoT compliance and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates work activities of the delivery team.
  • Ensures compliance with company and government policies and regulations (e.g., Safety, OSHA, HazMat, DOT, etc.).
  • Monitor driver DOT hours for compliance.
  • Able to understand and work with DMO (Driver Management Online) team to manage driver records, transportation safety, and compliance data.
  • Maintain fuel tax, purchases, and licensing for fleet.
  • Manage driver equipment and uniforms.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the transportation fleet.
  • Knowledge of on board computers and computerized routing and monitor XRS system during the shift.
  • Knowledge of safety work practices, performs all duties in a safe manner, conducts safety meetings, and performs driver safety observations.
  • Resolve delivery related complaints from customers, drivers, sales and management team members.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules to minimize service failures.
  • Recommend measures to improve delivery methods, equipment and productivity.
  • Analyze and resolve problems and assist internal customers in solving work related issues.
  • Analyzes and reports freight costs and identifies freight savings opportunities.
  • Coordinate driver ride-along’s with assigned drivers on a regular basis.
  • Administer and support all federal, state and local laws pertaining to transportation.
  • Administer and support all company policies and programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years related experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Physical activities required of this job include, but are not limited to: climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.

Work Environment

Warehouse and office environment. Employee may be exposed to cold, heat, damp, or humid conditions. Will work around moving machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Will be exposed to exhaust fumes and paper dust. Noise level in work environment often loud.
