Works closely with National Account Managers and Category Management to source products and negotiate customer program specific pricing. Has extensive knowledge in specific products, preferably Packaging.
Negotiate costing for large, multi-location customer programs to gain and/or grow new business and enhance current margin position. Develop competitive proposals with product offerings, showing alternatives and savings interfacing with Program Management Sales, Category Managers and Account/Program Managers.
Identify, drive and implement cost reductions through product, pricing, costing & margin analysis. Initiate margin enhancement projects within the customer contract parameters.
Maintain extensive industry knowledge, product applications, new products, competitive products, pricing and market trends. Maintain reference library of national supplier literature, product information and supplier contacts.
Work closely with Category Management to ensure effective utilization of corporate programs, private brand products, core vendor selection and product transitions. Perform market research to identify opportunities within existing account base.
Participate and organize product training seminars for program management team members.
Develop and enhance multi-level vendor relationships across geographic markets. Identify and cultivate mill and vendor relationships with a National and/or North American footprint.
Prepare Roll-out documentation/files, request new item creation and provide usage data as a part of new customer on-boarding.
Maintain project tracking database

Proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate to expert in Excel.

Strong working knowledge of distribution
Knowledge of packaging product categories helpful
College Degree preferred in business or related fields
5+ years experience in sourcing, purchasing, or related field
