Position Description

This position will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and negotiating (directly or indirectly) new and existing Corrugated and Folding Carton Preferred Supplier Agreements, manages vendor relationships, identifying product, sourcing of product, negotiating price and program, building/maintaining price sheets. This position will manage program details, the integrity of the programs and the termination of the programs if necessary.  This position will work closely with the sales team to ensure understanding and complete execution of the programs to drive sales. Activities will include new supplier approval, system set-up, marketing and field sourcing interface, sales activities, implementing sales strategies, promotions, launches, and pricing.  Will manage and achieve specific financial goals as they relate to the overall needs of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of product & vendor management including financials, relationships, product selection, negotiation and deal closure

• Financial management including sales results, item lifecycle, returns, margins, program dollars, terms & conditions, and corporate goals

• Manage and engage in accounting and collection of Preferred Supplier Performance Incentive Programs (PIP) through collaborating as necessary with Veritiv Finance, Accounting, and other personnel

• Manages the integrity of all item information

• Lead, approve and assist in onboarding new corrugated and folding carton suppliers                   

• Analyzes product performance and makes decisions to maximize sales performance as well as income performance

• Become the subject matter expert for the assigned product line

• Reviews requests for new items to be added to product offering and ensures vendor selection is appropriate and profitability metrics are met based on guidelines

• Manages the quality and performance of branded products by use of a Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) process

• Product Promotions – creation, management and tracking

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

• BA/BS Degree in Marketing or Packaging or equivalent related work experience

• 5+ years product management or sourcing experience preferred

• 5+ years of experience with corrugated and related product

• Strong communications skills are critical, including experience in negotiating economic terms and conditions of sale

• Qualified candidates should understand supply chain and vendor manufacturing

• Solid grasp of how a product or product line is managed against competition and strategies around maintaining a competitive advantage

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, as well as database skills

• Detail oriented, organized, works with a sense of urgency and high degree of accuracy and able to manage and prioritize workload

• Demonstrated collaboration, trust, and team work.  Manage processes and information by communicating and working with key stakeholders in a cooperative, team like fashion
