Maintain strong understanding of the methodology used in the company’s activity based costing system.
Review and provide updates needed for Veritiv Sales Organization hierarchy used in business reporting.
Partner with IT to test and analyze activity based costing data prior to moving to production. Ensure the activity based costing system is working correctly and results provide meaningful data for profitability analytics.
Manage monthly processing of activity based costing results. Reconcile results to the general ledger. Coordinate with various groups in the organization to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Evaluate data quality and ensure activity based costing system is accurate and reliable.
Extracts and analyzes financial & operational data to support activity-based modeling and analytics
Responsible for review and support of routing reporting using activity based costing system
Support financial planning and analysis team on daily reporting and activity based costing questions on methodology, reporting, and analytics including VIPER MSSQL cube, and BI4 query.
Understand general ledger hierarchies and how they relate to the activity based costing system.
Work with IT on various projects relating to data quality within the data warehouse.
Manage various projects of a financial nature at an enterprise or segment level.
Required Skills: (Position level of associate will vary based on skill level and experience)
Advanced Access and Spreadsheet skills, experience working with macros, financial modeling
Advanced skills in data analysis and ability to use various adhoc query tools
Working knowledge and direct application of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow concepts
Problem solving skills; ability to understand and structure issue resolution
Time management skills and capacity to manage priorities and respect and meet important deadlines
Must be detail oriented and exercise precision in work
Ability to adapt presentation materials to audience and present in front of small groups
Strong interpersonal skills to work across multiple functions in the organization
Required Experience/Education:(Position level of associate will vary based on skill level and experience)
Bachelor’s degree required (accounting or finance major preferred)
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance
