Position Description

Job Responsibilities:

Champion Segment Initiatives

  • Communication and execution of segment specific initiatives and strategy
  • Drive Sales, Marketing and Sourcing initiatives for assigned Region
  • Jointly own with General Managers local market strategy development and implementation
  • Responsible for the segment P&L results and key drivers in the assigned Region
  • Accountable for Segment Field account results and providing assistance with Enterprise and National opportunities as required
  • Report directly to the SVP-SBU with dotted line responsibility to RVP (see below)
  • Participate as member in all Regional Lead Team meetings & segment reviews as required
  • Jointly responsible for setting the annual regional segment sales budget together with RVP/SVP

Drive segment specific results:

  • Revenue, Adjusted Gross Profit
  • Sales Headcount & Selling Expense (includes commissions and T&E)
  • Inventory & D&E

Sales Management responsibilities

  • Drive segment/field alignment with dotted line responsibility for Sales Managers
  • Assess performance of  Sales Manager as part of annual process together with GM
  • Jointly responsible for segment specific sales staffing and recruiting
  • Work with Sales Managers and GMs on account assignments as appropriate
  • Conduct joint monthly sales manager business reviews including Results, Pipeline, Opportunities, Initiative progress etc.

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience: 

  • Drive for Results
    • Develops strategy and game plan to exceed identified goals
    • Focus on the financial metrics that will drive enhanced financial returns and putting forward solutions based on the financial metrics on paths to improvement
    • Pursues a line of collaboration with all levels of the sales organization to create a culture of results orientation amongst the team
    • Uses logic and data to solve for difficult problems creating effective solutions that drive profitable results
    • Builds constructive and results orientated relationships internally and externally that become enablers of the growth strategy
  • Prior Experience and Education
    • 4 year degree, business or marketing preferred is required
    • 5-10 years management experience in functional leadership, managing complex teams

Working Conditions/Physical Requirement:

  • Travel requirement,  50-60%
