Assist the division in exceeding their financial and strategic goals by playing an active role as a key member of the division transportation team.
Plans and coordinates work activities of delivery.
Oversees scheduling and dispatching of leased and company-owned vehicles.
Ensures compliance with company and government policies and regulations (e.g., Safety, OSHA, HazMat, DOT).
Monitor driver DOT hours for compliance
Handle driver days off, vacation schedules
Communicate with CS on delivery issues
Manage Driver Equipment
Manage Driver Uniforms
Provide RC with update info on customers: ex, time windows, address changes
Monitor xata system during shift.
Communicate daily with Routing Center on daily driver scheduling
Communicate daily with Routing Center on 2day driver scheduling
Communicate with Shipping on vehicle, driver issues
Provide nightly start times for drivers
Monitor Driver return procedures
CDL A qualified recommended
Assist in jockeying equipment in yard
Update trips for AVP report
Point of contact for Harrisburg /Camp Hill employees with info for RC.
Is knowledgeable of safety work practices and performs all duties in a safe manner. Supports division safety committee.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
College Degree or equivalent work experience.
A thorough understanding of warehouse, delivery and traffic operations within a distribution setting, as well as government regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, HazMat, etc.). Preferably from a large, national or decentralized organization.
1+ years of successful supervisory/management experience is required. Ability to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.
PC proficient in Windows based software programs. Familiarity with mid-range and mainframe operational systems is helpful.
Excellent leadership, customer relations and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to motivate team, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
Strong planning and organization skills are required.
