Job Summary and Scope:
Compiles records from ordering, shipping, and receiving materials. Updates information on computer to maintain inventory records. Assesses stock supply and reorder status. Prepares and verifies requisition of additional stock items using the appropriate forms. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Works under minimal supervision.
Maintain accurate system and physical inventory balances within VOS
Perform daily cycle counts as dictated by VOS and as needed schedule manual cycle counts to maintain the ongoing integrity of inventory.
Key appropriate inventory adjustments to add, modify or delete inventory in the VOS system for ongoing accuracy.
Correctly perform new item set up procedures in a timely manner.
Recommend/develop/conduct training programs and process improvement actions.
Reconcile physical and system records for product damaged by warehouse operations.
Arrange for authorized disposition of damaged and obsolete merchandise.
Assist with product identification and location inquires.
Perform location and product verification tasks as required.
Maintain adequate on-site BOH for products stored off-site.
Review open customer order requirements against on-site and off-site inventory balances. Call-out items from off-site storage to satisfy customer orders.
Identify and obtain proper documents for inbound shipments, damaged merchandise, customer returns.
Monitor and react to issues with products on hold in the inbound staging area.
Work with buyers and sales personnel to correct product UOM and description discrepancies.
Analyze picks and put away error data to determine root causes.
Provide buyers with the information they need to affect corrections.
Work as back up labor to another warehouse operation position.
Assist management with product slotting and warehouse layout.
Serve as Lead during physical inventory.
Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
Business Knowledge; Distribution; Knowledgeable, Desired.
Degrees; HS General Studies; Diploma/GED; Required.
Degrees; Business Administration; Bachelor’s Degree; Desired.
3+ years working in a warehouse/logistics environment. Distribution warehousing; Desired.
Excellent organizational, time management and customer relations skills; Required.
Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail; Required.
Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.
