Position Description


Job Summary and Scope: Performs daily cycle counts to maintain perpetual inventory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate system and physical inventory balances within system.
  • Perform daily cycle counts as dictated by the WMS and as needed; schedule manual cycle counts to maintain the ongoing integrity of national accounts inventory.
  • Key appropriate inventory adjustments to add modify or delete inventory in WMS system for ongoing accuracy. 
  • Correctly perform new item set up procedures in a timely manner.
  • Recommend, develop, and conduct training programs and process improvement actions.
  • Reconcile physical and system records for product damaged by warehouse operations.
  • Arrange for authorized disposition of damaged and obsolete merchandise.
  • Assist with product identification and location inquires.
  • Perform location and product verification tasks as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years working in a warehouse environment.  Previous inventory experience preferred. 
  • Self starter
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Good interpersonal and conflict management skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer relations skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving and math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks are required.
  • PC proficient in Windows based software programs.  Ability to develop proficiency with company computer system is essential.
  • SFD, MAX and/or AS400 system helpful.
  • Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system preferred.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Help promote safe work environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • A portion of the incumbent's job responsibilities will require PC work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for frequent periods of time. The incumbent is required to talk, see and hear. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Warehouse environment:  Frequent exposure to noise, damage to clothing, and potential minor accident hazards.
  • Equipment:  Personal computer, telephone, fax, printer, scanner, copier, and material handling.
