Position Description

The Routing Center Analyst is responsible the routing and daily maintenance of 6-8 divisions or other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Non-standard working hours – normal start time is approximately 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
• Schedules division’s deliveries, including transfers, to meet customer requirements
• Determines routing assignments using Route Optimization Tool for maximum route efficiency
• Maintains route / customer file data base accurately in routing tool
• Communicates with assigned division Logistics Managers to examine results and improvement opportunities
• Provides routing manifests, daily delivery reports each night to assigned divisions’ Logistics Managers and CSRs (and Sales Reps, as required)
• Provides analysis of Group routes identifying GP per Route Reports and delivery expense reduction (ie. route consolidation and overlapping routes) opportunities
• Provides viable route solutions for all proposed new business
• Makes decisions on deliveries outside of Service Offering Matrix rules
• Provides On-Site reviews / training of divisions’ routes for cost / benefit evaluations
• Provides divisions’ “Planned Routes vs. Actual Routes” performance reports to Logistics Managers and Group Operations Manager
• Executes required report routines within Xata software to prepare Electronic Fuel Reporting.
• Ability to manage: delivery (WCOGS) daily volume changes, customer special delivery requirements and diesel price volatility impact on delivery expense
• Tracks DOT Hours of Service constraints / changes
• Adjusts driver and equipment availability due to call-offs / equipment service requirements
• Manages driver feedback, accuracy and timeliness; driver skill level/engagement; CSR feedback/interaction to accommodate customer requirements constrained by delivery expense.
• Interacts with Sales Reps requesting special favors for their customers
• Develops optimum routing solution for 50-75 trucks / routes for 6-8 assigned divisions
• Provides backup routing solution support to other Veritiv Routing Centers routers as required due to illness, system failure /continuity of operations
• Creates “What If” routing scenarios monthly for delivery expense savings opportunities

Required Experience:
• Must have first-hand experience in efficiently routing a fleet, including thorough knowledge and skill set in utilizing Roadnet routing tool and Xatanet driver performance reports
• 4 year degrees required; preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business
• Business Knowledge required; knowledgeable in Distribution
• 3 years Logistics experience desired
• Microsoft Office proficiency required
• Occasional travel availability required
