Under general supervision, this position is responsible for general ledger journal entries, month-end close procedures, and analyzing balances in accounts for appropriateness. This position performs account reconciliations and is required to have detailed knowledge of all general ledger accounts and their contents. This position is required to meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting and tax deadlines, and provide accurate and timely analysis and research as needed.
Frequent interaction with managers throughout the Company.
Maintain assigned general ledger or subsidiary ledger accounts by reviewing documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations, preparing supporting schedules, recording appropriate journal entries consistent with US GAAP, and reconciling on a monthly basis.
Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
Act as the subject matter expert in assigned accounting area(s).
Review financial results for completeness by preparing various reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
Support various audits by providing accounting documents, schedules, and other relevant information.
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
Support external reporting to various governmental agencies.
Develop technical proficiency of US or local GAAP in assigned accounting area(s).
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Perform related duties and responsibilities.
Participate on other initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
Must be a self-starter, results driven, and capable of working autonomously with limited supervision.

Undergraduate 4 year degree from an accredited College/University required (Accounting Major preferred)
4+ years of related work experience.
Certification (CPA, CFA, CIA, or CMA) preferred and maybe required for exact position.
Intermediate understanding and proficiency of US or local GAAP and general accounting principles.
Working knowledge of technical accounting research/documentation
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft : Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint.
Intermediate knowledge of major ERP (enterprise resource planning) software applications such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.
Working knowledge of on-line analytical processing (OLAP) tools such as Hyperion.
Experience within the Distribution industry and familiarity with operational requirements preferred.
For locations outside USA – bilingualism is required – working knowledge (oral & written) of English and local official language(s).
