Position Description

Location for position is flexible.

Electronic Business solutions help to automate business tasks, promotes efficiencies, reduces costs, and improves order accuracy. The E-Business Manager is responsible to help grow sales and margin through the support of the sales force and customers within their assigned geographical territory.  E-Business Manager assumes the role of a technical/sales consultant during the selling process and converts technology solutions into business terminology, identifies and analyzes customer needs regarding automation of standard business processes including but not limited to inventory management (VMI),  PO submission, Advanced Ship Notices (ASN), system integration, 3rd party partnerships and invoice delivery.  E-Business Manager must be able to offer and implement electronic business capabilities (is the subject matter expert), identify specific customer needs and work with the larger eBusiness organization and our IT team to identify the correct solution and implement it. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the sales organization to identify the key customer opportunities within your area
    • Analyze customer processes and understand their needs
    • Become part of the selling process in your area
    • Proactively target large volume customers
  • Grow esales dollars$ and esales percentage in your market area by proactively identifying and engaging opportunities
  • Participate and provide information for RFP/RFI/RFQ opportunities; present sales proposals to current and prospective customers where eBusiness solutions are included
  • Maintain open communications with the area sales leaders and representatives; to include reporting projects completed, in process and under consideration 
  • Provide reporting on the key eBusiness Metrics including the annual growth goal objectives for the key eBusiness Metrics of eSale$ and eShare%
  • Field eBusiness Managers work independently, but must also be able to coordinate a team of resources to implement some electronic business solutions
  • Candidates must be self directed, goal orientated and results driven
  • The Field eBusiness Manager must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills are critical to success
  • Coordinate training & support for customer service and sales within your area when appropriate
  • This role requires travel; approximately 25-50%

Key Competencies:

  • Organizational Agility & Business Acumen - The Field eBusiness Manager must understand the structure of our company and identify the resources necessary to delivery an electronic eCommerce solution to the customer.
  • Technical Learning and Savvy - The Field eBusiness Manager must have a basic understanding of key eCommerce terminology and functionality.  They must be able to communicate customer requirements to the more technical IT team.
  • Communication Skills - Good written, verbal and presentation skills are essential.  Presentations to both small and large audiences are required.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years account management, customer service or inside sales
  • Working knowledge of B2B websites as a selling tool
  • Working knowledge of system integration including EDI, cXML and like formats
