Job Summary and Scope:
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the credit group by processing customer check by fax requests and other administrations functions as assigned. Responsible for managing the check by fax group boxes and printing checks for Veritiv customers in a time sensitive environment. Responsible for researching and identifying unknown payments through system research as well as internal and external customer contact. Requires an in-depth knowledge of cash application processes to include basic accounting principles.
Daily printing and processing of customer check by fax requests
Daily balancing and filing of processed items
Logging of processed items on the daily check tracker
Coordinate daily mailing of processed items to the correct physical addresses
Interact with internal and external customers to resolve unidentified requests
Additional tasks as assigned
Systems skills required include Oracle, VOS, MAX, , Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
Strong 10 Key data entry skills
Attention to detail
Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to learn and adapt to change
Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Oracle skills preferred
Education: High school or equivalent
Experience: 2-3 years relevant experience
Decisions are made within established team guidelines and accounting system profiles.
