What should I expect during the hiring process?

Our hiring philosophy revolves around building one team that is committed to shaping success for customers and for each other. The hiring process is designed to understand your potential as a candidate. You will get to know our team members and our business, and we will assess if there is a mutual fit in terms of skills, interests and values.

As a candidate, you will likely meet with the hiring manager and other team members via in-person, phone and web interview formats. You will discuss your academic, professional and life experiences, and also have the opportunity to ask questions about Veritiv, the team and the position you’re evaluating.

The experience will be most valuable if you have an understanding of Veritiv. Be prepared to exhibit the value you bring though examples of past successes and challenges.

I recently submitted my information for a position. What is the next step?

When you apply for a position on this site you will receive an e-mail confirmation acknowledging receipt. A recruiter will review the applicant pool for a particular position to identify a match. Due to the overwhelming response, this process can take up to three weeks. We appreciate your patience as we review each applicant's experience and credentials against the experience and qualifications sought for the opportunity.

If you are identified to move forward, you will be contacted by a recruiter who will outline next steps. If you are not identified to move forward, you still may be contacted about other opportunities that align with your profile and/or interests. Your profile will remain on record for up to one year after you create or edit it. You can update your profile at any time.

I am experiencing technical issues (e.g. can’t log in, can’t apply for jobs).

Can you tell me if a job has been filled?

Generally speaking, positions that appear on this site are open and active, even though the interview process for some may have started. If you do not see a particular position, it has been filled or it is no longer available.

NOTICE TO ​applicants

Beware of scams from individuals, organizations and Internet sites claiming to represent Veritiv in recruitment activities. Veritiv’s recruitment process requires that interested candidates apply to current openings through this Veritiv website, participate in an interview, and never requires payment or fees from job applicants.  If you receive a suspicious email message or phone call about recruiting on behalf of Veritiv, do not provide any personal information or pay any fees. Veritiv accepts no responsibility for any costs or charges incurred as a result of fraudulent activity.


Veritiv Operating Company and its affiliates and subsidiaries ("Veritiv") have an internal Talent Acquisition Department. Veritiv may supplement that internal capability from time to time with assistance from temporary staffing agencies, placement services, and professional recruiters ("Recruiters"). Recruiters are hereby specifically directed NOT to contact Veritiv employees directly in an attempt to present candidates - Veritiv's Talent Acquisition Department must present ALL candidates to hiring managers.

To protect the interests of all parties, Veritiv will not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than directly from a candidate. Any unsolicited resumes sent to Veritiv, including unsolicited resumes sent to a Veritiv mailing address, fax machine or email address, directly to Veritiv employees, or to Veritiv's resume database will be considered Veritiv property. Veritiv will NOT pay a fee for any placement resulting from the receipt of an unsolicited resume. Veritiv will consider any candidate for whom a Recruiter has submitted an unsolicited resume to have been referred by the Recruiter free of any charges or fees.

Recruiters must obtain advance written approval from Veritiv's Director of Talent Management to submit resumes, and then only in conjunction with a valid fully-executed contract for service and in response to a specific job opening. Veritiv will not pay a fee to any Recruiter that does not have a signed Veritiv vendor agreement in place, dated no later than one year before the date of the resume submission in question.

Recruiting vendor agreements will only be valid if in writing and signed by Veritiv's Director of Talent Management or his or her designee. No other Veritiv employee is authorized to bind Veritiv to any agreement regarding the placement of candidates by Recruiters. Veritiv hereby specifically rejects, and denies any liability under, any agreement purporting to be accepted based on negative consent, negotiation with a candidate, performance, or any means other than the signature of Veritiv's Director of Talent Management.
